Automotive Advanced Diagnostics
Today’s vehicles require more than a code reader.
Modern cars, SUVs and light-duty trucks contain dozens of interconnected computers, sensors, modules and electronic systems. When something goes wrong, pulling a trouble code is often only the beginning.
At Quality Mechanics, we have invested in advanced diagnostic technology that lets our technicians go much deeper — analyzing live vehicle data, communicating with individual modules, performing bi-directional tests, evaluating communication networks, testing electrical signals and performing supported calibrations and resets to determine why a problem is occurring, not simply which code was triggered.

Bi-Directional Testing
We don’t just listen to the vehicle. We can talk back.
A conventional scanner reads information from the vehicle. Advanced bi-directional diagnostics allow our technicians to send commands back to supported modules and components — commanding them to activate, cycle, open, close, turn on or turn off while monitoring the vehicle’s response.
This helps diagnose problems involving fuel injectors, cooling fans, pumps, solenoids, valves, relays, electronic actuators, lighting circuits, HVAC components and other electronically controlled systems.
Instead of replacing a component because a code points in its direction, we can test whether the component, the wiring, the module — or another part of the system entirely — is actually causing the failure.

Advanced Electrical Diagnostics
When a test light isn’t enough
Electrical problems can be some of the most difficult problems on a modern vehicle. Our diagnostic system incorporates a 4-channel oscilloscope, digital multimeter, waveform generator and CAN-bus testing capabilities — tools that analyze electrical signals a conventional code scanner cannot see.
Especially useful for intermittent electrical problems, sensor signals, communication failures, ignition problems, actuator problems, wiring faults, parasitic drains and difficult no-start conditions.
Vehicle Network Diagnostics
When modules stop talking
Modern vehicles operate through interconnected modules communicating over data networks. A communication problem in one module can create warning lights and trouble codes across multiple seemingly unrelated systems.
Our equipment visualizes the vehicle’s module network, identifies modules that are reporting faults or failing to communicate, and performs network integrity testing — another level of information for the hardest electrical and electronic problems.
Live Data Analysis
A trouble code captures only part of the story. We monitor and graph multiple live parameters simultaneously to see what the vehicle is actually doing while it operates — comparing related data to identify abnormal relationships and intermittent failures.
For an engine performance problem, that might mean analyzing fuel delivery, airflow, throttle position, engine load, oxygen sensors, temperature, ignition, emissions and other operating data together — a much more complete picture of what’s happening inside the vehicle.
Calibrations, Relearns & Resets
Modern vehicles frequently require electronic procedures after components are repaired or replaced. Depending on the vehicle, we perform supported procedures including steering angle calibrations, battery registration, throttle relearns, injector coding, electronic parking brake resets, service resets, component adaptations, system relearns, ABS procedures and other manufacturer-supported functions.
Stop Replacing Parts. Start Finding Problems.
A diagnostic trouble code does not necessarily tell you which part needs to be replaced — it tells the technician where the vehicle detected a problem. The actual cause could be a failed component, damaged wiring, a poor connection, incorrect voltage, a mechanical failure, a communication problem or another system affecting the one reporting the fault.
Scan it. Analyze it. Test it. Verify it. Then repair it.
Difficult Problem? Bring It to Quality Mechanics.
Warning light, intermittent electrical problem, no-start, drivability issue, communication fault, or a problem another repair hasn’t solved — our advanced diagnostics give our technicians the technology to dig deeper. Advanced diagnostics. Less guesswork. Better repairs.
